Chevy copycats

one of the more collectable trucks today is the 67-72 Chevy. They should be. They are a knockoff of the original classic truck, the 53-56 F100! Look at the body lines of the two models, especially the stepside. Compare the lines that go over the wheelwells of the fenders. Look at the shape of the hood and the center ridge. The sides and the front sure are similar. The profile of the door dips in right below the window and the bodyline that runs around the back of the cab. On the 67-69's, even the grill sets in what looks like a subdued version of the F100 grill cavity. When you chop the top of either model, you have to remove more from the front or it will look like the cab is shorter in the back than the front. The 67 only models even had a small back window. We should be flattered by the imitation. Besides, it may keep them from ruining our trucks with their backwards engine. Next time you see one of their imposters, pay attention to the similarities.

LAST EDITED ON 26-Feb-01 AT 06:48 PM (EST)[p]Never did like the 67-72 Chevys much, though a loaded CST shortbed might be interesting. A guy around here chopped the top of a 70 Chevy longbed until it only has a little mailslot window. An extremly terrible porportioned truck! I would take a '56 F100 big window, Custom cab shortbed any day!
