302 to 351
My buddy has a 1989 f150 with an efi 302. He wants to put in an efi 351w from around the same year. My question is, will the 302 computer run the 351, or to the computers need swapped?

ya need to swap the comp
theirs a list of reasons
the new peramiters for the transmission
the efi system
just all sorts of stuff pretty easy just go to your local pick and pull and pull a comp from a 351 ( that had manual or automatic ((depending on what yours has)))

The 302 computer will run it reasonably well.. the pre '94 5.0 and 5.8 motors make about the same HP so it's not much of a stretch to adapt to. If you don't like how it's running after a week or two look for a 5.8 EEC to swap in, if the truck has an AOD you can use a 5.8 EEC computer a manual or C6 auto.
