I'm looking for a towing hitch for my 2000 EB Expy 2WD. I've seen some running down the road that is "hidden" up under the back of the truck and the only thing visible is the "receiver" portion. I don't like the "Ford" ones that attach to the bottom of the rear bumper. I've looked at the Draw Tite and the one for my truck just seems to be too "boxy" and in my opinion takes away from the beautiful lines of the Expy. I can't find anyone in my area that is a hidden hitch dealer to answer questions of physically view their inventory. Anyone have suggestions? comments? ideas? My truck does have the load level suspension and towing package. The previous owner snatched the hitch to put on his new navigator.
I totally agree with you. I took the stock 2001 Expedition hitch off and went to TruckSmart and got a Hide-a-Hitch that fits just the way it should. Whats with Ford and Draw-Tite and those boxie ugly hitches anyway
I just had a Draw-tite hitch put on my Expy at a local shop. The shop manager showed me the Draw-Tite book and it showed no tube or hidden hitches for the Expy. He said they have them for the Explorer, but not Expy. I'm taking his word for it of course.
I have the Hidden Hitch 70560. It is a tubular hitch, mounts to the frame, and hides up under the bumper (only the hitch receiver is seen). The only down side, it is only a class 3 hitch. It is not a class 4 (I do not tow enough to warrant the class 4). Here is the info off the web:

Class III Trailer Hitches - Round Tube Style
I have to agree. I went to a place here in Dallas to get a hitch put on. Good thing I was out there when they were installing it. They started to put the squared off thing that was totally visible. I asked if they had another. Pulled this one out. It was great.
Here is the web site: http://www.hiddenhitch.com/Home/ and under product search, just enter 70560. You will get all the specs (not pictures that I have seen though).
