Engine Out, No Chicken Yet
Got the engine out yesterday. No blown out block. I did find where the freeze plug came out at the rear of the block (the one on the right). Also pulled the rocker covers and it didn't break one, nor did it have any bent pushrods. I decided my old engine stand is not going to hold that monster, so I'm off in a day or so to get one big enough to hold it before I tear it down looking for that elusive chicken.
I remembered what a bear the old style Bank kits were to install (pre-Sidewinder). It was 10 times worse getting everything undone to pull the engine. Lots of wiggle in the turbo shaft, so I'm going to send that off for a redo.
