more problems

Went out and got about 1 1/2 cords of firewood and on the way back seemed to loose lots of power and smoke lots of black exhaust. Any ideas.

Was this green firewood? That's a pretty good load, you definitely gonna know it's back there.

No it is not green. it is all dead standing pine. I have sides that are 18" above the top of the cab and it is heaped above that. I actually just got back from delivering this load. On the way out there i was floored in forth gear at 10psi and could just barely hold 55 on flat ground. Something is wrong. I am wondering about injectors.

Black smoke points to not enough air.

Did the engine sound change, like got very rattley?

the engine sound did change. I don't know if i would say very rattly but rattling some

what type of fuel filter does everybody recommend and not recommend, not sure if that is the problem but i have no idea how old it is and it could probably use a new one.

A member just reported a new filter he pickuped at autozone came apart on the inside, it was there house brand. I would stay away from them for sure. IIRC he said it was built by champion.
