I have a 1976 2wd f-100 with a 360 FE or 390 FE engine (not sure but same exhaust) and i am looking for headers
But i have a problem my exhaust ports have 1 per cylinder of course but then in the middle it has two small auxiliary ports and i cant find headers with 5 pipes all the headers ive found for my eninge only has the 4 pipes so i think my two middle ones would be open
On my 360 I had in my 77 they never were really operational, those aux ports that is, i always had a 4 tube header set for it.
I have a 390, and I bought some flowtech headers, they sound amazing and give me a tiny bit more power, and if you lay off the throttle, I notice a bit more mileage per gallon as well.
Affordable and amazing in sound, haven't had a problem yet.
Hope you find what you want, but I would definitely recommend those ones I posted the link to.
but those will work even though they dont have the middle ports?
Like I said, on the 360 I had, those never really served a purpose, once you torque your gasket between your heads and headers, they are pretty well sealed, I'm sure someone on here who knows more about the 360 can tell you, I didn't install mine, due to breaking a few studs off, a mechanic said he'd install them at the same price of removing the studs if I bought him a 6-pack, so I never saw if mine had them or not.
In my post where you had asked how to make sure you were getting a accurate reading of stroke, I know I didn't cause it swallowed most of the extension I used, then later found out my across the street neighbor/friend had bored & stroked it out to a 401 with 40lbs rings or something like that.
Message me if you need more help, I'll do what I can.
It sounds like you must have a pair of 361-391 FT big truck heads on your engine. The small "auxillary" ports are actually the exhaust crossover passages, unique to the FT engine. The FT heads have large chambers (low compression), and smaller valves than the regular FE heads that the car and pickup FE engines use.
