The best I got with my superchips was 20 mpg on the middle setting all freeway with 2 cycle oil added in the fuel. Havn't seen that in a year or better. I do get better with my tuner than stock. with winter blend, I'm happy to have 15-16 mpg

its the max micro tuner, 1705 i think. something like that, it reads codes and has tow safe-tow performance and -performance. i usually just leave it on the middle one, even when i am hauling heavy loads. i can tell a diff. when it is on there, but would like a custom tune one day.

Can't remember the exact mileage gains from stock but I did gain some. My 1705 programmer really helped with the shift points, especially towing. First trip down to Lexington, Va. without the SC, stock, I was in and out of gears climbing those hills. I got the SC before the second trip down and it was nite and day, stayed in gear hence saving large ammounts of fuel. This was before I knew about custom tunes like DP Tuner and other top notch tuners. I was satisfied but now I'm really satisfied. Also stroker870, come on out to RRE-Y2K this year in Newport, TN. you'll see first hand what custom tunes will do for your truck, plus hang out with some great folks.

i've got the 1705 tuner. it does make towing easier and gives nice amount of power but is really nothing compared to a custom tune. I upped the voltage in my idm to 140 volts. a popular mod and gives maybe 20 additional hp.
if your getting real bad mileage its probably not your tuner its something else on your truck that needs attention.

i like the low end torque in tow safe, but it feels i have more passing power in the tow performance mode. in summer i tow a lot more and usually leave it in tow safe most of the time myself,

did it change the mph when your truck shifted into OD, before and after mine still shifts into OD at around 45 mph. i do not like that when towing, but i can always just push the button.

I tried my dad's old Superchips tuner... you know, the one with stock, towing, and performance? I was getting 16 to 17 without it, I tried the performance I have yet to see 14 again. Could be because of the winter though. I've been doing a TON of idling this winter so I can have a warm cab when I get in... a cold string bean like me and a cold cab don't do good together. Anybody know what's up with my truck and tuner? Should I be getting better mileage? I wish I could get a DPTuner right now...

Don't count on a tuner to get you better mileage. In some situations, a tuner MAY improve mileage, but their real purpose is for adding horsepower or torque.
