Air bag

No, not the wife, the air bag on the sterring wheel, the light on the dash is on. What's up with that? How do I disconnect it, already got a black eye from one.

Is there a key to disable the passenger side air bag? Black eye's heal better than brain bruise? Concussion? Fractured Skull? Maybe?

I rarely get over 50 mph and would just as soon take my chances as have an air bag threatening to go off. Found out it's the clock spring that's causing the light and my mechanic told me how to disable the bag, but as long as the gas is still there, they can go off at any time, accident or not.

You didn't say what year it was but you can probably remove the airbag in 5 minutes. If it's like most vehicles I've seen it's just held in place by two screws in the back. Take a mirror and flashlight and see what kind they are, maybe torx, hex etc. As for the light, if its an older model you may be able to just pull the bulb from the cluster. On a newer one they are probably LED's soldered into the circuit board of the cluster so depending on how bad you want the light out will dictate what you do.
