On hold till Wed...............*(&^^(*&^& damn dizzy gear! I had to order a new steel dizzy gear from Summit Racing and it won't be here till Wed.

I was going to use the dizzy gear from the TFI dist, but the hole in the gear is to big to fit the Duraspark dist.............

I need to have it done by next weekend so Mike and I can go to Ed's in KFalls and get his 65. I won't have much time though because I've got a full week of customer work, and the following week I go to the woods to work on logging equipment for two weeks..............

All in all, It's been fairly easy. The biggest thing was the damn broken intake bolt. It took me 3 hours to drill out the grade 8 bolt and get it rethreaded. Somebody told me I could just use the gear from the TFI dist, but the bore sizes are different. Everything else is done.

Broken bolts suck, Don............They ruin "simple" jobs..........One broken bolt turned a "3 hour" job of headers on my 460 into a 3 day ordeal........enter 90deg. drill, die grinders, carbide burrs, ez outs, cobalt drill bits, heli-coil kits........the only other option was to pull the head, not something I wanted to do.

I hear ya Dave. I hate broken bolts, especially grade 8! I can't wait to get this finished. As soon as its running I'm going to sell the 87 Ranger 4X4 extended cab. Then NO MORE COMPUTERS, and NO MORE EFI!!! Everything I have will be carbed with no computers. Old school all the way...........

I've got all the parts ready to put the 300-6 in the 67 shortbed next.

I've got a guy all lined up to by the Ranger for $1,500. Just enough to buy the steel for my sawmill! I may not be able to wait till winter to build it tho. I've got people comming out of the woodwork wanting to buy lumber...............

Yes I'll take finished pictures. It sure looks less cluttered!

*^%*&^^*^%(*&^ damn dist gear!!!!

After waiting for the new dist gear to get here from Summit and trying to install the distributor for THREE HOURS, it's the wrong gear..........

So I put the old gear on and it dropped right in.......

I guess I'll run it till it goes out! Carb will go on tomorrow. Time to finish this damn project!

Cant you use the existing electric pumps to do the job? My buddy has a very similar truck we are going to start resurrecting soon.

Fuel pressure would be way to high with the stock pump. I'm using a simple 12v pump with 5psi that I had laying around.......

I suppose I could have found a pressure reducer for it, but I want simple. No pressure relief valves, or return lines to mess with.

Can it draw thru the non-running stock elect. pumps?..........real foggy here, do you now have to remove the stock pumps?
