Well Guys: I get one problem fixed and another arises. We installed CPP disc brakes on front of 64 f100 and tried to mount the original rim and tire which are the standard Ford 15" but the rim will not go over the caliper. I think we need 16" rims but what donor truck of any make will have rims that work. Joe
Try later 60's ford rims say 65/66 bc the rims are different on the inside. I had the same problem. Its due to the fact that the 64 rims on the inside are shallow as where the 65/66 have a deeper rim spread.
Joe, you answered my question with your question. I was looking into using the CPP disc brake kit on my 64 f100 and was wondering if the original rims would fit. Now, I know they won't. Thanks.
Thanks, I'll remember that. I will eventually get custom wheels, but its good to know that if I convert to disc brakes, I can use the original wheels for a while.
I am using my stock 64 wheels on my F100 converted to Discs (Speedway kit) I had a slight interference but ground away slightly on the calipers. I read somewhere it might be necessary. it did not take much to get the clearance. As the pads wear, the caliper moves "out of the wheel" moving away from the interference.
