My 2003 SD sometimes will not engage in reverse from neutral (like it still is in park). When I put it in first, the truck takes hold, and I can then put it in reverse and it will engage. Any ideas? TSBs? Thanks!

 

Not sure if this will help you, but my truck was having issues when I tried moving the lever-felt "loose", especially in reverse. Long story short, I found the bracket that holds the cable end at the column under the dash was loose, tighened the two torx screws and good as new!

 

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately for me though, my lever is tight and the indicator is moving properly to the "reverse" location on the cluster.
