Well spent the last day putting in a B&W turnover ball 100gal L tank 6 prong in bed light hookup and tomorrow am tackling the glowplugs. Any advice on the plugs. These are the first major things I have done to the pickup other than the Edge evolution and even then I use it mainly for gauges and leave it on stock. Oh and I also ordered the 46637 wix filter for it to replace my other open element filter. It already had the cold air and 4" catback magnaflow exhaust on it. But who doesnt have a ball in 3/4ton diesel? I mean I think it should be standard equipment and to think its just broke in at 285k mi. Well thanks for the advice on the plugs in advance. Oh and I upgraded the in dash cup holder to the 02 to present type.
Nothing to hard about it, just pull the old ones and put in the new making sure to torque them. Here is some torque specs for the other stuff while your in there anyway.
Stay away from Autolite glow plugs. You need to stick with the motorcraft or international brand stamped Beru. The autolite's have been known to have the tip swell and break off in the head.
Yea I am pretty big on using OEM parts like that. Got them put in what a PIA but better than the 8 cnotes dealer wanted only costed me 80 bucks for the plugs. Your are right about the cup holder its the best thing and even better since mine didnt even have one in it!!! Clay reps for the pics came in handy will be ordering me a cover for the 6637 cover soon. It was awesome to go out this morning without plugging in my pickup turn the key one for 30 sec and fire right off I was elated.
