BTS 4-12-10

I finally set the date with Brian. We had a good talk and he agrees with me doing this before I start having problems with the Diode. I wanted to do a Monday rebuild so I don't have to be away from the store more days then needed. I will leave here Sunday and spend the night somewhere up there to be at his shop Monday morning. This is me for a Month.

Rick, u will love that transmission!!! I put mine in back in Oct and it has been flawless! Shifts awesome and gets the power to the ground NOW! I had Brian build me one and ship it up to me and i did the install, wasnt too bad. With all the good press BTS gets, i just dont understand why people go to a "reputable" builder close to them and "save" them money and in the long run it costs them a bundle, because those transmissions never last, and the warranties dont even compare to Brians.

Ken,
About how much do you save by do the install yourself?
I am not too far from looking at a replacement, so I'm considering all angles.

Thanks,

I am sure I will love the trans. Brian doesn't charge anything to take the trans off and put it back on. I agree about getting a "rep" place to rebuild your trans and have to do it again sooner then should be. I like the idea that Brian don't care what mods I have, he will warranty it. I'm ready for this.

Thanks,
What i saved was a trip to arkansas to have it done which would have been pretty pricey, fuel, food, lodging. All said and done, i was at $5000, that was including shipping and transcooler and oil. I bought my transcooler used from a junkyard and flushed it before i installed it.

some save on having it shipped, some dont. I chose to drive the 8 hours or so down to get the experience. I only had $200 in fuel towing my truck on a trailer down and back and $120 in lodging.

I would look into getting some tunes to try from Cale. I just put mine in a couple days ago and I can really tell ya i love the power and the shifting is great. Definetly like it more than my prvious custom tuner..

Brian's customer care and business ethics are exemplary. Diamond City Lakeside Resort is where I stayed while I was there, it's like 2 miles from Brian's shop.

I am so ready for this. I hope to feel a difference but I don't think there is anything wrong with my trans now. I hope I'm not doing this for nothing.
