I am not sure if ford made an 86 lightning? do you mean 96? Any-ways, it the truck was supercharged and your engine will not be, then i would pass on the heads. Generally speaking, forced induction heads from the factory have smaller valves than naturally aspirated ones. This is because the force of air/fuel coming in is so violent that larger valce will shroud the intake and cause excess turbulance in the comb. chamber. I know the 4.3L GMC typhoons had smaller valves than a regular 4.3, and the same went for the Buick Grand National which was on a 3.8L. Don't be jaded just because they are lightning heads. Spend your money on a set of good aftermarket heads that you are sure of. Unless they're free, then by all means, bolt them on!
