OT: Taurus Wagon front hubs??
I have been helped out by some great advice here in the past and very much appreciate it, so I am going to ask again...
2001 Taurus wagon is getting noisier all the time. Around 100k miles now. Everything feels and drives OK, just getting more and more of a hum/road noise that increases with speed. Kinda like the tire contact/road sound, but louder. Jacking up the car and shaking everything, it all seems tight. No play in the spindle bearing areas, but I am suspecting either the hub(s) or CV axles by the sounds I am hearing. A little turn of the wheel to the right and it quiets. 120 miles of daily highway at 70-80 makes it pretty noticeable. Guessing that it is a hub, but would like to verify that if possible before replacing it, or check anything else that I should:transaxle or differential?

Well. Thanks anyways...I see the site musta had some trouble. New passenger hub has my wagon feeling, riding, and sounding like a new ride again. WORLD of difference. So much so that I can now feel my warped rotor again, feel and hear lil' clunks I never identifies previously, but ALOT of rattles are gone and the radio can be listened to a 4 rather than 12-13...
