Lowering 4x4

Wait instead trade it for a 2wheeler. You'll end up with a nicer truck since 4x costs more. Then you can slam away.

Lowering 4x4

well considering i got a 93 f-150 four wheel drive in mint shape with 90,000 miles on it for 2500 i dont think it would be cheaper in the long run. You guys have no idea how clean this truck is and how well its been tooken care of. So i couldnt go wrong with what i paid for it so i dont think it will be cheaper in the long run.

thats cool. before you make your decision think about it. do you ever use your 4wd? are you ever in situations where you need your 4wd? also, in my opinion it might not look to appealing with the rear being 4-5 inches higher than the front unless you are going to lower that too. if you were to remove your factory blocks in the rear, and drop the front 2 inches you will have the stock height of the same year 2wd truck. that itself wont look like the truck is actually "dropped" but just 2wd. ive lifted my 2wd truck and have had problems getting it aligned even with drop brackets AND alignment shims. be prepared to have possible alignment problems which plague independent suspension setups. ive never heard of someone dropping their 4x4 of this year and dont know the possible problems you might run in to, but in opinion its not worth messing with it. 4wds were not meant to be lowered, there is no kit for lowering 4wds. you can use a 2wd kit but you might run into mechanical problems with your 4wd system and alignment. you will need new shocks since your factory shocks will surely bottom out. if you do indeed go for it, best of luck to you.

Lowering 4x4

Well i live in maine so i use my 4wd when its snowing out.but i dont take it mud running or anything like that. Well i guess there would be one way i could drop it but i dont really have the money for is airbags. Anyways i suppose i will have to put that tires on there and see how it looks. Does anyone know if i will have a problem with rubbing with a bfg radial t/a 295/50 on a 15x10 rim when i turn.

26.6x11.6 is what that comes out to. no it wont rub but will look really really stupid. for what your planning to do i would forget putting those tires on. theres no way your going to beable to lower your truck that much to make those tires look good. i would save the 15x10 inch rims put a lift on it and run 33x12.5 or 32x11.5. you cannot drop your 4wd that much. even with a two inch drop in the front the tires will look stupid. you cannot go more than 2 inches lower in the front, the ttb will not allow it.

Hi-
yeah man 2500 is a damn good deal for a mint '93 150. My opinion is leave it alone until the snow or whatever is gone and someone who wants a 4x will trade you for a 2wheeler plus CASH!
