While removing the bed on my '60, I noticed there are blocks of wood sandwiched in 6 of the 8 mounts. Is this an actual factory deal?
What have you guys done when restoring your trucks and remounting the bed?
I believe so. I'm pretty sure my shortbox only has 4 mounts per side that need blocks. Kenny's drawing shows 5 per side which is probably for a long bed. The very back one on mine is steel on steel with short bolts that don't protrude through the bed's floor like the others.
I still find it amazing that they would still be using wood blocks while the rest of the bed and cab are all steel with rubber biscuits. haha.
