Exhaust tips (ends)
Sorry for the dumb question, but what do exhaust tips do aside from look cool? Do they change the sound of the exhaust?
I have straight dual exhaust on my 78 F158 off-road truck. It's very loud and makes a "blap-blap" kinda sound. I'm looking to make it sound deeper without adding mufflers. Will putting on different tips help? If so, what diameter and length?

Exhaust tips (ends)
Long exhaust tips will give you more of a higher louder tone and large diameter tips give you the deep tone. So go with a 4" x 18" or a 5" x 20". Those will quiet it enough, but let it still be able to roar if you really get on it.
