hey guys.../
this weekend i did a muffler delete to my MBRP 4" exhaust. i like the sound and in the cab it isnt much louder, but i have a question...
1. will not having a muffler cause any problems with the engine? the truck seems to have better throttle response and runs great, i just dont want to screw up the turbo or anything else.
never thought about it. i took mine out also. 4" down tube,4"(4 3/4") 316L stainless pipe out to a 7" tip. i run in 80E on my dp tuner about 99%of the time.
only problem i have is with the wife and kids if i leave in the morning (4am every day) and gat on it . it wakes them up.
i id not notace any performance difference but it sounds good.other than the turbo flutter sound when im up in OD.
but its better than the log truck sound of every kid who lives around here driving a cummins with no mods but no muffeler
Did mine several years ago and am glad I did. Only thing I might suggest is you keep your old pipes and muffler/cat just incase some state official makes you put it back to original.
I ordered my MBRP 4" kit and the straight pipe at the same time. I still have the muffler in the box. Never put it on. I don't mind the sound. I live out in the sticks. The only loud car (other than mine) is the dinkus neighbor with his bada$$ sounding durango... ya, right
