what year did they put the dip stick in the front of the 460, doesnt have the dip stick going to the pan on the side its up front behind the water pump? thanks for readin,..... charlie
Rob, don't forget some of those came in 2wd F-150's as well. But then again, I guess they are still classifield as "passenger car" setups and not "truck" like the 370 was.

Karl I never made any comment about trucks either way. I stated all passenger cars had front sump and that front sump engines have the dipstick in the timing cover.
But you are correct 2wd trucks used a front sump pan, and thus had the dipstick in teh timing cover. 4x4, and vans used rear sump and thus used pan mounted dipsticks.
