I purchased an 03 F350 6.0 6spd DRW 4wd 9' flat bed a couple months ago. It will have a 5T Smeal hoist rig mounted on the bed so it will have 10-11K base weight. I have a 95 and two 97 7.3s that I did the EBPV exhaust brake mod to. I am now used to not relying heavily on pushing on the brake pedal. Doing a lot of work in the mountains here, I would like to do an exhaust brake on this rig. I know there is no EBPV on this engine. So, what are the good aftermarket setups out there?
This is the first 6.0 I have had. Had the VIN run and the only major repair under warranty was EGR valve. It has 90K on it. It doesnt like to run good until warm. Once warm, it runs good but have had to learn to keep the RPMs higher than I run the 7.3s.

There is one user on here that liked his BD Exhaust Brake setup.
You can also get custom tuned in order for your VGT turbo to act as a poor man's "jake brake" as well. Now before you get to excited about the whole tuning thing, you can just have it to where it does the turbo braking without any additional hp/tq over stock if you wanted. One of the beauties of custom tuning, you can do some things without affecting hp/tq output(or you can actually lower output as well, if your one of those that think Ford pushed it to far already).
Both in the end will probably run you the same amount of money, just one will be done electronically and the other will be done mechanically.
