digital computer problem...
Over the last couple of weeks, my digital mileage readout (located on the ceiling) has been acting very strange. I can start the truck, and the computer shows the correct miles remaining on the tank of gas(240). I can turn the ignition off, turn it back on, and it will read out 50 miles left. Turn the ignition off, and back on, and it goes back to 240.
Not a big deal, but very annoying....
Thanks.
Its the easy thing to chk !
it's located on the rear diff ,the only wires going to it.
loose connections somewhere in the circuit could cause a problem also.
The fuel level sensor is located in the tank ,but that would be my last resort ,if the vehicle is still under warranty.
Also could be a failing module in the overhead !
Dealers can scan for codes to see if any codes are being posted from the module.

fuel level sensor and fuel flow data which is calculated in the pcm to give you your reading in the overhead .From what I read about it.
Your abs module also uses this input.
Its just the easy thing to chk along with connectors .
Make sure you clean the dirt around the sensor before taking out we don't want any dirt getting in there

Thanks for your help...
