Hood Pad Question

Greetings. I got a hood pad for my 1995 f250 from LMC because my OEM one was falling to pieces. The LMC pad is just a roll of insulation rather than a molded fitted pad so I am not going to use the LMC roll. I was hoping to find a direct factory replacement.

Are there any issues running without one?

Is the OEM hood pad for sound or heat insulation?

My 91 does not have one or even look like it ever did.

Cool. Thanks. My 92 bronco didn't have one either. I am suspecting they put one on the psd to help with noise.

My trucks have never had one either. I believe it is on the deisels for noise reduction. I would say just leave it off, unless its really bothering you.

Cool. Yeah I'm thinking it was mainly for noise. I left it off and detailed the underside of the hood. The paint looks brand new. Now the rest of the truck REALLY looks like ****.
