why?

why can't i find a leveling kit for my 99 superduty? they ask me when it was built, i tell them late 98. but come on its a 99 so shouldn't 99-04 kits be the same for leaf spring applications?

No, because the very early 1999 Super Duty trucks had a different front differential and all the associated parts.

Like redford stated, you need the "Early 1999" lift kit. Here are a few leveling kits...

A 315/75R16 tire is 34.5" tall. You can get away with a 2"-2.5" leveling kit if you don't do any off-roading. If you do any serious off-roading, then you may want to go with a 3"-4.5" lift kit. Also, depending on the condition of your front and rear leaf springs, you may want to replace them as well. I see that you currently have Pro Comp shocks. You may have to replace them with the 2"-2.5" leveling kit and definitely with a 3"-4.5" lift kit.

I'm a big fan of Icon lift kits. As I see it, you have several options...

Option #1 - Install an Icon 2" leveling kit only at a cost of $230.00. This will remove any rake on the truck. It's the least expensive option but does limit the trucks ability to off-road (minimal articulation).

Icon Vehicle Dynamics 1999 FSD 2 Inch Mini Spring Pack Kit - Early 1999 F250/F350 SRW 4wd - Truck Toyz Store

Option #2 - Install an Icon 3" "Hanger" lift kit. The kit without rear blocks costs $950.00. The kit with rear blocks costs $1,133.00. Both kits include new front & rear shocks. This is definitely a more expensive option. Also, it's in the grey area in terms of front end alignment issues. These lift kits do not include a drop track bar bracket, drop pitman arm, and sway bar end links. You'll get better off-road capabilities with this option but nothing significant. I don't really recommend this option.

w/o Rear Blocks:

w/ Rear Blocks:
Icon Vehicle Dynamics Early 1999 F250 FSD 3 inch Hanger System - Early 1999 F250/F350 SRW 4wd - Truck Toyz Store

Option #3 - Install an Icon 4.5" "Hanger" lift kit. This kit costs $1,569.00. This kit includes hangers, drop track bar bracket, drop pitman arm, and sway bar end links, front & rear shocks, and rear blocks. The only thing that remains shock are the front & rear leaf springs. This kit will provide much better off-roading capabilities.

Option #4 - Install a 4" "Spring" lift kit. This kit costs $1,743.00 and is only $174.00 more, which IMO is a much better value than Option #3. Like Option #3, this kit includes drop track bar bracket, drop pitman arm, and sway bar end links, front & rear shocks, and rear blocks. If wanted either now or in the future, you can add the Icon 5" rear leaf springs for $675.00 which would result in a 100% suspension upgrade.

I hope that this helps...

Understood... post up your thoughts of the new leveling kit.
