OOPS.I don't know what I was thinking....
Another Road salt issue...I was feeling sorry for my truck...instead of being RED it was road salt white. So...not thinking very clearly, but concerned about all of the salt, I decided to spray it off last night. Though I myself was freezing from being at the barn tending to horse matters I guess I just wasn't thinking about how cold it really was. I'm in the Chicago area..and we are in a bit of a freeze. It was probably 5 degrees last night..supposed to go below 0 tonight...anywho..I went to a manual pull in/out car wash. Fed my quarters in and proceeded to "Wash the truck". Well....the soap immediately froze..and while I was able to get the soap off by continually rinsing I ended up with a really frozen truck. TT mirrors completely frozen over..and the reverse sensors are all confused...as soon as I put it in reverse to attempt to back into the garage,(lots of fun with no side mirrors), the buzzing began. So..now it's in the garage..with a nice coat of ice on pretty much everything...but it's RED again!!! Did I do any real lasting damage to anything?
Once the ice finally melts, it will be okay. Just don't try to run the windows down, I can see it stripping the cogs really easily
Likewise the mirrors.
The rear sensors where just confused with the opaque ice covering the eyes. It just thinks it is near something.
Let it thaw and it should be okay.
Good luck though, it suppose to be even colder the next few days. Next time it will be above 20 is next Monday
