I have an 82 Bronco and want more power. My solution is to put 4.11 gears into it. My question is are F250 or F350 gears interchangeable in the front and rear axles?
No on both counts(the front axle is a maybe). Look at the rearend in the Bronco. If it's smooth with no bolts showing, then you have a 9 inch rearend. If you look and it has a cover with bolts going around the outside, then you have a 8.8 rearend. You can get 4.11's for either style from summitracing or somebody like that.
Your Bronco has a dana 44 ttb. A lot of the f250's had a dana 44hd ttb in the front. There is a chance the gear section may interchange, but wait for someone who knows to confirm that. If it won't, you can buy 4.11's for the front just like the back.
You probably can also buy 16" rims with 5 lugs if you want to run those type tires.
Check out the bronco forum. Also try the search feature. If I remember correctly there is a thread about puting che?y outer knuckles on your housing and getting 8 lug, etc. I did the ford 8 lug swap, (3/4 ton running gear, 50 ttb and lt duty 60) it worked but I'm not happy with it.My fault/ workmanship, not the concept. Best result though was the brake improvement. Should have had this size brakes from the factory. Have also done the 1 ton brake up grade to my 80 bronco, not as impressive as the other. OBCB
