Well, after new plugs and running diagnostics, my 98 v10 stll has misfirings on 2 cylinders, maybe 1&6.
Coils next? It also is shuddering a lot in 3&4th gear which happened simultaneously so I'm assuming it's just the miss and not the tranny suddenly taking a dive. Again, only 56k miles...any ideas? Worth it to bring it to a Ford dealer for a diagnosis?
When you say "diagnostics" do you mean engine codes? Have you read the engine codes?
Give us more info: How does it idle? Rich-fuel smell at exhaust pipe? At what RPM does it miss? Is the miss worse while going up a hill, high torque situations? Have you pulled the spark plugs and read them ? Have you swapped coil packs/fuel injectors? Is the truck stock, or heavily modded (chip) ? What have you done so far?
I may not be able to help you, but there is a lot of sharp folks on this forum.
Thanks, the miss/wobble is consistant in rpms, exhaust seems normal, no smoke, new plugs-no real change, old ones were well wron at 55k, one or 2 seemed blacker but all seemed clean burning, codes were for 2 mis-firing cylinders, shudders more under load in 3&4. Stone stock V10. Coils will be next I guess.
