Any Flowmaster Experience On Here?

I am considering putting a Flowmaster on my truck. I am trying to find out which series sounds best? I am also thinking of just dumping the exhaust at the muffler. Does anyone have this set up? Any issues doing this? Can anyone tell me what size inlet I need? Any help will be appreciated. Thank You!

I have had a 40 series on my 04 for five years now. Still sounds great. I had custom dual pipes put out the sides - it was cheaper than buying a catback.

I had a flowmaster 40 on my truck also, its the loudest of the flowmasters. I ended up putting a HD Edition exhaust on my truck but I really miss the sound of the 40. You wont be disappointed in it...

I have a 50 series flowmaster. It is a SIDO with custom pipes out the rear corners. It has been on the truck since 05. It has a nice tone without being harsh. I had a 40 series on my Expedition. It was also a SIDO with custom pipes out the same side. It was loud and had bad drone at 2100-2200 RPM's.

Agree....40-series are fine if you like driving around at WOT all of the time, but if you want to retain any shred of your sanity during daily driving and highway cruise, look into buying something else.

They aren't nicknamed "Dronemasters" for nothing you know.

I say go with MBRP. Ilike it way better than the flowmaster. nice aggresive sound but you dont have to buy new speakers to hear your music over the exhaust. also the pipe size is 2 1/2" after the Y pipe behind the cats

Thank You All for your responses. I'm gonna try Youtube for some sounds. I like the Borla dual rear exit but man is it expensive. Thanks Again!

I have a Magnaflow set up and like it real well. I have watched some videos of F150s with the 50 series Flowmaster and they sound pretty good too. Another system I like is Corsa but they are like Borla in that they are really really expensive. Here is a video of a Corsa system:

Hey fordtruckman, Thanks so much for posting this. But man am I confused. I have the Corsa model or part number 14302 and it does not sound as deep throaty with a growl like this one. It was supposed to be the sport version which was the loudest they made at the time, which would have been in 2005. I put it on my 04 Lariat. I wonder how I could find out if maybe the 14302 is the touring version. At the time of purchase I even called Corsa to make sure I was ordering the correct Sport version. Do you know what part number this one is? Thank You!

The tips look different than mine. Mine are two big 4 inch tips. These look smaller.

14302 is supposed to be the sport version. can you still see on your muffler what number is on that? maybe you were shipped a touring muffler by mistake. worth a look.

Yes, my exhaust only has about 4000 miles on it and is like brand new without salt and hardly any water. However, I don't remember seeing a number on the muffler when I installed it. I looked it over real well because I had to make sure the drip hole was facing down. The 14302 is on the carton I have that the exhaust system came in and I remember the guy at Corsa telling me that was the correct exhaust I wanted (I've had a lot of 302's including a Boss 302 so I remebered the number that way) lol. I am assuming 14302 is the complete exhaust kit part number. I am working on waxing and putting my new Roush billet grille together right now. Maybe this evening or tomorrow I can crawl under there and see if I can find a number. How were you able to find that 14302 is indeed the Sport Exhaust? Thanks so much for your help!

I have a cat back SISO FlowMaster ("50" series muffler, 3" tailpipe) and it sounds great...loud enough to enjoy with no drone in the cab.

fordtruckman, After reading your post again I see that you have a Magnaflow and not the Corsa. Thanks Again for posting the info!

bogeyrider63, I found the information on the 14302. You may be right. They may have shipped me a touring muffler instead of the sport. It was drop shipped direct from the factory. Or, maybe I just expected more sound! lol Thank You!
