I have been researching the shackle flip threads and a thought came to mind! Why can't I just build some new mounts(front and rear) and drop my shackles down.I do not plan on going crazy-just 4-6 inches.Let me also add I am a ASME qualified welder/fabricater by trade.I can build these for about $5 (ya- I get a huge cost break at work on anything steel, carbon or stainless) My truck is a '75 F 250 crew highboy with dana 60 front and rear.Any pros or cons you can think of???
It will work. However, vehicles have what's known as a "roll-axis". Simply put.......your truck will have more body lean with stock springs on lowered mounts, vs lift springs on stock mounts.
torsion bars, also known as anti-roll and anti-sway bars link one side of the axle to the other to keep the chassis from tippin so much in turns. however, they are flexible and will allow independent movement, but they do limit "flex", which makes them undesirable to a lot of off-roaders. which is why warn makes a set up that can be locked for highway use, and unlocked to allow full flex on the trails.
Another question- I know I will need a drop pitman arm, anyone know where I can get one for a '75. Also I have the closed knuckle 60 up front,I still have the power assist ram upfront for now-another project for the future is the steering conversion, but one thing at a time!
that explains why I cant find one! lol Everything I find cuts off at the "77 year. So as I understand-just need a block and some longer bolts correct? Thanks for all the help

Always called them sway bars, I thought you were talking about torsion bars like you would find under a chevy or dodge.
