auto hubs

I have auto hubs but can manually turn them off,if i turn them off will it be better for the bearings,frontend and will i get better mailage?

I would say no. If 4x4 is not selected then your hub is off. The **** is there incase your auto hub does not work.

You can either turn the hubs to AUTO or LOCK. If you choose AUTO then your hubs will unlock once you turn the switch in the cab to 2wd. If you choose lock, then your axles will turn all the time, even when in 2wd.
