I too have a 36 ft fifthwheel (about 14K loaded) and those temps compare well to what I have seen. I got a little nervous seeing the EGT going that direction, but it never got to 1200.
Jakebrake- if his pyrometer is like mine with an Edge product the probe is in the exhaust manifold just below the turbo up pipe.

It could be in the exhaust manifold (pre turbo) or it could be in the downpipe (post turbo). Depending on the tow conditions, if he is post turbo he could be approaching the upper limits as far as EGT's. Difference's in temperature between pre and post turbo have been reported to be several hundred degree's. That is why I was asking the OP the questions.
Understand Jakebrake, just thought I would add my 2 cents since I had recently installed my Edge Evolution. I did not like drilling into the exhaust manifold pre turbo. I see that you have the same one, hope your enjoying it as much as I am mine. Seems like a good product.

I did not care for the drilling either...that's why I had a friend who owns a exhaust shop do the work...he has done a lot of them (experience). Evolution works good for me...I monitor EGT, EOT, ECT, and Trans temp. Set on level 2 (economy)...I am tempted to set it higher but so far I have been able to resist (going over to the dark side). My engine is stock except for listed mod's and the fact that the kitty ran away.
Re-reading the original post I see that the OP states he was pulling a grade...but I would still like to know the other conditions and how much of a grade.
Yea those ETG's are low. But thats because of where your probe is. I would add 150-200+*'s to what you are reading to get a better idea of what your EGT's are. I get 1200* pulling a smaller trailer up some hills. FWIW
Breathing a sigh of relief. Glad to hear the temps are fairly normal. Plan to get the coolant filter installed this month and eventually EGR delete. The grades I was pulling were not steep at all just rolling Oklahoma hills. At this point would be worried sick if I had to pull Ratan Pass or Monarch Pass.
Speed was 65 mph outside temps 50f. EGT is installed in exhaust manifold where suggested my mfg.
Drilling was easy used three steps to 5/16" and tapping was also easy tapped it to about half of the threads deep and it screwed in and tightened with 3" crescent so as not to get to much torque.
Fuel pressure is now 60psi with installation of stock spring, thanks again to william_04_x
I would say that those temps look pretty good based on the conditions you stated. As the outside temp increases with the warmer weather I would say that you will see your temps increase. Good luck...and watch those guages.
