i can help you there, i got a 01 7.3 and runs great but it does not like aftermarket stuff like programmers, the 7.3 is the better engine but its slow, if you choose the 6.0 get a 2005 or higher the worst 6.0s are 03 and 04 only few of those have actually held up, the 6.0 will work with the banks power packs and gives incredible performance the 6.0 is faster. more info on the 6.0 is boost power over 23 psi will lift the heads and the same with the 7.3 according to Ford if you want serious power go with the headstud kit, and you will need a pryometer gauge and trans, boost if it doesnt have it, this will help monitor engine performance. The 6.0 is bad about kicking injectors and High Pressure Pumps keeping up with good services will keep that down using fuel additives will help the injectors there isnt enough lube in the ULSD to keep them running, the 6.0 is bad about blowing EGR Coolers and EGR Vales always make sure you have water in the coolant recovery bottles on both motors. the 7.3 doesnt have a EGR, the 6.0 is great when they run, a recommend the block plate on the 6.0 feel free to contact on questions hope this helps
