dual exhaust?
Hello to everyone. Hey I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Magnaflow dual in/dual out universal muffler. According to their site, it has an internal "X" flow. I would think this would work as a sort of equalizer pipe. I was thinking about using it in the following way. I was planning on cutting the stock Y pipe after the O2 sensor and create two pipes. Then weld on two short pipes to the now cut Y, and run them to the dual in / dual out muffler and then run the outlets in traditional dual fashion. I thought this way I wouldn't have to mess with the O2 sensor and eliminate the cat at the same time. I was planning on using the 3" version, and then from the outlet, drop down to 2"1/4 out the back. BTW, the engine is a 5.8, 95' F150 4X4 with the E40D.
Any thoughts on the set up or the muffler idea?

Well that will work meaning the exhaust will flow just fine... but the equalizer tube on a dual exhaust system has to be equal distance from both sides of the motor to provide any real benefit, and even then it's not much so you're not buying and extra performance over a simpler single with a dual out muffler for example.

tru that, but with it built into the muffler, I figured it would be there(kind Of), and it would be an easy way to hook up duals with out dual mufflers. For now I'm going to have a exhaust shop put on cat back duals, and when I get the muffler in, I'll just do my chop, cut, weld job. That way I don't have to listen to the muffler shop wine about them working on a vehicle that doesn't have a cat.
