Hi everyone, I've got a 71 F350 dually, with the NP 4 speed in it. Wondering what you guys in USA have, here in sunny Queensland, Australia all we have is T5's, and the odd smattering of ZF's (which are as dear as poison over here). I'm pretty sure the T5 would last about 10 minutes if I put one of those in, though the ZF would probably do the trick.
Are the Ranger Overdrive boxes as good as they sound, and are they readily available over there second-hand?
Thanks, Paul
The C uses the same bell pattern as the W--but you knew that. But back to your original question about the Ranger--maybe you'll get more info here. To find them used---Ebay or Craigslist or travel the countryside looking for scrap yards--not much help for you, sorry.
Yeah, I've been watching Ebay like a hawk! Ok if anyone sees or hears of one for sale, please let me know. Thanks all!
Reading about them, the gearbox actually ends up further back in the vehicle, so has anyone seen a ranger overdrive fitted in a truck with a bench seat? Just thinking of clearance issues between the gearstick in 2nd, 4th and reverse, and the bench seat in my truck.....?
IT is pretty rare to see a used ranger for sale and about as many of them were underdrive as over so make sure when buying a used one. Zf5 to fit your cleveland are available, and you see the gear vendors used quite regular. I just traded for another one last week.
