Ok so my cylinder 1 injector crapped out on me last week. armature screw stripped out Aka unsavable, so Cody cut me a huge deal and Jim gave me a great deal aswell, thanks guys! But I got it running today and cleand out all the out the air and what not but when I wa running on 7 cylinders icould get 26 lbs of boost when I tried to see what it would do when down an injector,so I pRied it after tht till today. I peg 23 lbs of boost now at wot Mnd you I used to smack my 30 in the face with out issue and in seconds but the truck runs great idols great and pulls hard. and I tried another boost guage Nd both were on the money. What the heck! Over 4 dYs of sitting and it Lowly climbs to 20 lbs now?? I know I need a rebuild but what gives. So I take off the I take Ans I have. Little play up and down. Unless I'm crazy, I think... It's kind hrder to spin when pressing down on the shaft. Are the bearing junk? My hands are pretty big and it's a tight to get in there so I may hopfully be loosing it lol but I'm still ordering a new impellor wheel an rebuild kit tomorro anyway,
check for boost leaks before messing with the turbo. check the o-ring between the turbo outlet and the intake spyder, check the orange boots on the bottom of the spyder, check the up pipes, and look at the intake plenums. if you can see a white seal around them and the area around that seal is kinda clean then they are probably leaking there.
on edit, check the turbo for in/out play. if none then i wouldn't think the bearing is trashed.
well over 4 days of sitting ive got a massive boost leak, i duno. ive got the same egts, and i didnt even know there was suposed to be a gasket inbetween the Y pipe wasnt one on my last truck either hah. will air in the lines cuz this issue? truck starts almost right up, about and extra second crank now.
there is zero in and out play, just up and down, if i press hard enough i can make it just knick a part on the blade, but its been like that for a while
One, would ya quick typing on that damn iTouch, ya frickin sausage fingers are too damn big and you can't type worth a damn lol. Two, yes there is suppossed to get a ruber o-ring inbetween the intake Y and the compressor outlet so if that ain't there then you are going to be loosing boost there. And three, don't waste the money on the stock parts when the thing is still just fine, it ain't gonna blow up anytime soon so why fix what ain't broke. You want a D66 so put that money towards the new turbo.
Well the turbo is looser since when we checxked back when I was checking it out, I know I can't stand typing on that dang ipod but my laptop took a dump lol time for ipad!!
But ill get that oring for the ypipe, ansd no jim, map line is perfect. I'm convinced its my turbo. I can make the impellor wheel touch if I push hard enough, I'm sure the exhaust pressue is much higher than my touch.
When I put the truck on stock I can't get more than 12 lbs out of it on a hard run. $%&$%^*&!
