Shopping for tires for my 2000 F250 CC 4x4. These look pretty good and are getting good reviews. Does anyone here have any experience with them? How do they perform in light mud? I don't drive in mud everyday, but take 4 miles of gravel roads everyday, and it can get pretty soupy. The rest of my driving is highway.
They sound great but if you drive in anyy kind of snow or ice no matter how much or how little they are horrable. I talked with a guy from hankook usa corp any he admitted that even though they say they are an all terrain that has features for snow and ice they are not a winter tire. I had them refund my money and put on a set of BFG all terrains. Also on dry pavement my F250SD 4x4 felt squirrely.
wow rio your experience was totaly different from mine..
i bought a set of these exact tires over a year ago, and during the snowiest parts of last year i was truely surprized by how good of a snow tire they were..
i even goofed around in 2WD in some deep snow just to see how far they would get the truck..i really had to get stupid before i ended up needing to get into 4WD to move more forward...
i have been compeltly happy with these tires.. i orignaly went into my local tire shop expecting to buy BFG all-terrains cuz i know the history of teh tire.
but at about 1/2 the cost per tire, and based on teh guys recomendation, i decided to give it a try...
as a side benefit the tire is really quite quiet on teh street, which is nice when you get into teh bigger sizes.
I talked to a guy at my work that has them, and he said the BFG all terrains he had before these were junk - he drives on more gravel than I do and said the BFG's just got ate up, chunked out, didn't last at all. His snow/ice traction experience with the Hankooks has so far been the same as Fordfanatics, very good. Same with mud.
I'm in northeast ohio area. Glad to here other have had good experiences with these tires mine was bad. But in life that happens. This is the second truck i have had the BFG all terrains on and we do all types of construction right down to utility right of way clearing never had a problem with them wearing badly or chunking and got 50kplus out of them.
Right on, I hear ya, everyone has their good and bad. It's actually nice to hear a bad review of these tires - like that old saying, if it sounds too good to be true....
