One of my aluminum rims cracked enough that it leaks pretty bad. I put on the spare a few months ago and was going to wait to do something when it got warm. However it was feeling strange so when I checked things out, the lugnuts had come loose or something on the spare that was located on the right rear. One lug was already broke and I broke another getting the lugs off. I already replaced the lugs and nuts yesterday but the wheel holes are elongated enough that I better replace the wheel before too long.
I don't care about looks so I just want to get 2 steel wheels to replace the original and the spare. I know the aluminum OEM is a 15x7 on a 5.5 bolt circle. However when I look up junk parts the steel wheel shows a 15x6. Is that correct for the steel wheel for my replacments?

I think all the steel van wheels were indeed 6" wide. There may be some older pickup applications or something that had 7" wide steel wheels (pre-1997 pickups I believe still used the 5.5" bolt circle) or maybe check for aftermarket 7" wide wagon wheels or something.
So do the same tires fit on both rims? I'm not up on tires and rims. Never had to replace a rim before and I always had OEM rims.
15" tires will fit 15" rims. Only problem is that 6" wide rims are awfully narrow for the standard 235/75x15" tires on vans so the tires may wear more in the center of the tread and will flop around more from side to side while cornering. If you have anything wider than a 235 tire, I would not try to put it on a 6" rim.
A friend put some 96 F-150 wheels on his 95 E-150, the aluminum ones, they look good.
I like factory steels, painted to match the vehicle with trim rings and baby moon caps, it really sets off vans that are smooth, not a bunch of stuff mounted on them to break up the body lines.
