Well my E4OD is completely shot and in need of replacing. Instead of replacing it with another E4OD I bought a full manual swap. The transmission I bought was the NP 435 (trans code A) from a 88 ford F150. What I need to know is will a drive shaft from the same length truck as mine (ext. cab short bed / 2 piece driveshaft) with the AOD transmisson work with this NP 435? Is the NP 435 and AOD close to the same length? My truck is 2wd, along with the truck i got the driveshaft out of that had the AOD tranny in it. thanks.
Anyone...??? I guess what really needs to be asked is what is the difference between the length of an AOD and the length of a NP 435, both 2wd of course.

It doesn't really matter what the lengths are. The driveshafts are not compatible. The AOD uses a slip yoke. NP 435 uses a fixed yoke.
In my opinion, a driveshaft is the most easily modifiable part of a driveline swap. Once everything else is said and done, if you dont have or cant find the right driveshaft, any driveshaft shop and make you a new one or modify the one you have to work for your application for a reasonable price. I usually dont sweat it that much.
