10.25" question
I have an 89 F350 rwd with a 10.25". I open the diff cover to change the fluid and found a pulse ring. I thought these rings were on much newer trucks. What year were these rings first installed? Thanks for any info.

'87 is when the RABS became standard equipment on the F-series IIRC, so that's when the pulse ring came about too. If you look on top of your differential case you'll notice a VSS with a two-wire harness that runs along one of your e-brake cables - that VSS in your truck is used for the RABS only (speedometer is cable driven off the trans), in '92 the speedo cable disappeared and dash gauges became digital and the axle-mount VSS drives both the RABS and the PSOM.
