Engine popping
I was just going down the road the other day and stepped on it to pass someone and when i hit around 3500rpm it starts poping really bad and wont rev anyhigher. Its either coming from the intake or the whole left bank. whats really gets me is it wont do it right when i start it up and rev it up. so im pretty sure its not a bad cam. could this be a bad o2 sensor or a fuel pump going bad?

Check or replace the plug wires and plugs and pull the codes, I suspect your problem is ignition related and the codes will be clear but it's a good idea to eliminate that possibility. O2 sensor will not cause this problem.

I'm having this same problem with my 89 F250 with the 5.8. Mines about 1600-2200 though. no power there and loud popping coming from either the intae or the exhaust. I thin something is shorting out my ignition module because i put in a new one and cured the problem. **FOR A DRIVE** then it periodically started getting worse.
