need a bolt size or part number

I recently bought a 2003 f250 extended cab. My passenger door is uneven and I read how to adjust the door latch and striker on here. So I take a look at the star headed bolts only to find out they are stripped. So I will probably have to drill them out now. If anyone knows the part number or the bolt size that would be very helpful.

Hey Mrjenkins, welcome to the forum.
I'm afraid I can't help with the bolt size, this reply will bump your post back up to the top. Maybe somebody else can help you.
Stick around, it's a great forum.

I have discovered that many Torx bolts on Superdutys have Torx Plus heads. The regular Torx bits do not fit properly, and tend to strip out the teeth.

Torx Plus fasteners are supposed to transfer more torque and you should expect that a regular Torx will break or strip out before you reach the recommended torque on a fastener.

Torx Plus bits are available from the Snap-On man, or even over the internet (I bought a good set made by OTC for about $30.00), but not from the cheap sources.

I know for sure that the seat and seat belt bolts, and also the bed mounting bolts are Torx Plus, and it would make sense that the door strikers would be too.

You da man JockD. I took my back seat out for travelling last summer. Now I know why size T55 was smaller than it needed to be for the seat mount bolts. It worked, but was sloppy. I'll be ordering a set of Torx Plus and sending you some Rep points. Thank you!
