Door Arm rests

My truck doesnt have the door arm rests and I want to add them. How do I know where to drill the holes and what (if any) brackets do I need?

Door Arm rests

Good question. I am curious to know as well. My plan was to measure and inspect a door in a salvage yard when I get a chance.

Talking Door Arm rests

You could take a piece of paper or cardboard and make a template off a door that had arm rest.Should put you right on the money to drill the holes.

Door Arm rests

Sorry guys, I live in Western PA and there aint no such things as a junkyard where I can walk in and mesaure a 1966 truck door. I was hard pressed to find a 70's truck so I could get a C6 auto trans for a core or to rebuild.

Door Arm rests

My 66 F100 came with an armrest, which I replaced with a new one.For some reason ,I cannot attach the crude diagram that I drew for the armrest rear hole location. Email me(cheese@digital-star.com) for the diagram. Drill a hole large enough to accomodate the biggest bolt that will fit into the armrest.Remove the access panel in door and mount rear of armrest using a large flat washer and lock washer and nut.Align armrest so that it is straight and then matchdrill the front armrest mounting hole. I also used this method to drill the holes for the passenger side. I hope this helps.
