stereo loudness?

another question guys... anyone think the stereos are quieter than prevous models? ill admit i like my music loud but its at max almost all the time and when im doing 70mph down the freeway its just a joke. i had a 2007 f150 and it was way louder and sounded better.

At max? All the time? Holy crap, that would blow me out of the cab.

I'd suggest turning the radio down and potentially seeing an audiologist for a consult regarding your hearing loss. That level will easily cause permanent hearing damage.

i notice the same thing, my 05 with the upgraded sound system was louder than my step dads 05 with the dvd sound system, but my 09 is not as loud as my old 05. and i have the sony system. 70 mph with the windows down its not loud enough. i know i dont have hearing problems, never have.

I think it has a lot to do with how it clips off when you turn it way up. .. I have a similar problem

quick question...is your speed sensitive volume adjusted to a higher setting? After reading this post last night, I figured I would pay attention to the stereo while doing highway speeds. With my speed adjustment volume at 7, I don't feel the need to crank it all the way up. In fact 1/2 volume is more then enough even at 80+ mph. Do you have a "my key" programed? I remember reading about a volume limitation in some of the literature.

I have a XLT with standard radio as the sony upgrade I don't think is available until you get the FX4 trim. Good luck with it.

I have the Platinum and I have to say the Sony Radio is one of the better factory radios that I've dealt with. Usually the first mod I ever do is the the audio/visual stuff, but I think this is good enough for me, plus it's already an expensive system, so to add something else in there would be quite costly.

What stereo do you have? Is there a difference from the the single CD to the "premium 6 disc CD changer" that I have in my FX4? The sound on mine is louder and much better the the single CD I had in my 07 XLT.

And what are you playing? CD, MP3s? Is it the source that has a low audio input? I had an aftermarket XM radio in my 07 XLT and there was a DB loss

I have the 6 disc premium radio and I've used the bluetooth, USB and the Sirius sources and all have really come in good and at a really good volume. Like I said, considering this is a stock system, it's really pretty good. I haven't messed with the CDs yet, I have a road trip coming up a week from Tues., so I might try to get something for that trip, maybe put some of those tracks on the "jukebox" as well.

ya the Lariat, KR, and platiunm come standard with, i believe, 700 watt.

My great uncles KR sound is amazing half is great plenty at highway speeds and is crystal clear, theres a sub under the back seat, thats how you know you got it.

Drivin threw town you can crank it up and you got the gangsta's lookin at you, well the wannabees in this small town. lol

Its sort of funny, drivin that truck home we got more looks than we did when we took a decked out stang for a ride. Everybody, I mean everyone looked.

It's 700 watts, but I don't think it's standard atleast not on the Platinums. The day I bought mine(almost a couple of weeks ago) I was in a couple that had "lesser" radio setups in them. That's why I don't think they come standard. I think the dealers order more of them in there then the other radios, but I don't think they are standard.
