NEW TRUCK ???

Im getting a 1986 F350 Crew Cab flatbed with a 6.9 friday. My ? is when i straight pipe it will it put out alot of black smoke i dont know much about these older diesels at all. I was thinkin about turning the pump up but i dont want to blow it up. I want alot of smoke.

Why would you want a lot of smoke. Black smoke is unburnt fuel because you have way more fuel than you have air to burn so it is bucks going out the tailpipe same as throwing your money out the window except some kid on a bicycle might find it and buy some drugs with it.

Im not going to drive it all the time its just to haul stuff around so i dont have to use my daily driver or my Old Suburban.

But still why would you want it to smoke,it is waisting money hard on your motor and also gives the enviro whackos reasons to keep passing more laws justifiably. The pass enough for no reason we don't need to be giving them a justifiable reason when all it does is cost us money and performance to start with.

Unless it's turbo'd and has a pyrometer you dont want to mess with the fuel. Turning up the fuel and then hauling a load is a quick way to having a fancy lawn ornament. My fuel is up just enough to haze under WOT and I can hit 1200* on the pyro pretty quick with a load.
