Thank you What is the proper way to do a tire rotation on a DRW??
'Proper' can be up for discussion, but the way he has always rotated his tires has been (starting at the rear axle) inside tire to outside position, outside tire to front, front tire to inside position. No real need to cross-rotate with this rotation plan, as you're changing direction on most tires anyway.
That said, his new F450 has been posing a problem and we're not sure how he is going to rotate those. It has front and outside aluminum wheels, and the insides are steel. Probably just going to rotate the insides from side to side, and the outside/front will get swapped.

right.. I have the same wheel setup on my 08 F350.. will probably do as you mentioned.. flip the insides, move the outsides..
When we were looking for trucks for our 5er, I really wanted a DRW. I thought they really looked good and we always had vehicles that were different. We settled for a 250, the main reason........the darn fenders wouldn't fit thru the garage door

I know what you mean I think they look tuff as hell.
The biggest disadvantage is in the city driving. You do get use the DRW pretty fast. Mine being 2wd it sits a tad lower than 4wd so I can get into parking garages if needed, finding a spot is a different story. This is my 5th 250/350 truck and 1st DRW the only real extra expense is the 2 extra tires. As far as rotating tires the manual says fronts switched to opposite side and rears same way (Aluminum outside/steel inside) rims. Maybe it's different if you have all the same kind of rim?
Did I need a DRW? Not all the time. You only lives once and I'll agree they do look tuff as hell but I could be biased.
Thanks for the replies I'm near Chicago but I'm never in the city. Definetley would always take the beater around(99 Taurus )when I know I gotta go do something there. It's not by choice either, absouletly hate the city.I'm glad I got a DRW this time. I will post some of my experiances while getting used to it. Can't wait.

I also have a 2wd, crew cab, long bed.. 22ft long at the hitch.. really fun parking some times.. In november I had to park in an underground parking lot.. I was there early and managed to find a nice spot out of the way..
came back at 4pm to leave and the lot was full.. directly behind me was an F250 SRW, crew, longbed.. took almost 15 minutes of back & forth to get enough turn to get out of the space.. oh, there was a wall there too.. now I look for spaces on the corners so I can back in, and drive out.
That's the secret to public garage parking... arrive early and get the corner spots and I always go for the furthest away spot it's just easier. Luckily I only have to do this maybe twice a year.
miller_feed that can on the coolant must be after market. lol
