? about soldering pressure switch

A while ago I bought a remote flashlight for one of my pistols. well I finally got around to putting it on, and found that the wire from the pressure switch wasn't attached to anything.
There is a cone shaped spring and a small metal disc that has a raised center, and neither of them have any signs of ever been attached to the wire.
I first soldered the wire to the disc then put it underneath the spring, and screwed it onto the light and pressed the pressure switch, this didn't work, so I removed the wire frrom the disc then soldered it to the spring, then screwed it back on the light, and this didn't work either.
So my questions are. Did I solder the wire onto the right thing? Or perhaps I'm just missing something.
The light does workwith the regular push button on it. And the light works if I ground the spring between the case and the battery. Any suggestions, before I have to buy another switch?

It would be easier to tell with pictures. Plus, that way if we had the same type of switch on our guns, we could slide the plastic back and take a look.

Also knowing the make and model would help.

Well I'm just a basic member here, so can't upload pictures. i also don't know anything about the light other than it came with my Walther, there's no markings or anything else on it.
It is all metal, 1" diameter, has a single bare wire that comes from the pressure switch through the end piece about 3/4'. The screw on end cap is seperate, you feed the switch through the end cap, then screw the assembly onto the light.
When I unscrewed in for the first time, I found the cone shape spring and that little disc laying inside the light, and there is no signs that they were ever attached to the wire.
I'm just assuming that either the spring or disc, is supposed to be attached to the wire,as there is no room for the wire to be anywhere else without touching the spring.

Here is one that is simular to mine, but it's not a good picture though..

Never mind, I just bought one on Ebay, and bought a laser too. Now 3 of my guns have lasers.
