Angry starting electrical problem

OK. I started my restoration on my truck about 2 and a half years ago and im really getting close to getting it back on the road now but i just cant figure out what to do w/ this. I stripped all the instruments off the dash but left the wiring intact when i prepped the truck for paint and after doing so the truck wouldnt start on the ignition switch, however it does start w/ a remote ignition switch connected to the started solenoid and the battery. but the dash back together today and still nothing at the switch. ive replaced the solenoid and checked all my grounds, replaced both parts of the ignition switch. Im all out of ideas. where should i look to next???

thanx fer ne suggestions

Hello, Since wording is everything in determining what's going on.

Do you actually mean it doesn't turn over with the key But it will turn over and the even engine runs when you use a remote starter switch on the Solenoid?

Since the main parts have been replaced:
I suggest this is a problem with the start wire circuit coming from the ignition switch to the solenoid.

BTW, Your post was edited for spelling because it makes it easier for FTE User's searching the threads for certain words if they are spelled correctly

that is correct, it operates completely normal when i bypass the ignition switch. even the accessories work just fine (stereo, door locks, windows). Ill do a continuity (spelling) test on the wiring to the solenoid.

thanx for the advice.

From the ignition switch there is a red/green stripe wire that goes either to a neutral safety switch (auto) or loop-back plug (manual). From this it goes to the right most small connector on the solenoid (looking at it from the passeger side) . The neutral safety switch is so equipped is mounted either on top of the column under the dash and can be adjusted by loosening the screws an sliding either direction, or it is mounted on the side of the tranny by the shift lever. Hope this helps.
