what muffler?? lol sorry it took so long to update but it definately was an odd fuel restriction. Figured what the heck I'll start w/ the fuel filter although I changed it not that long ago and was not due. However when I pulled it off it was all bad. The filter media and its structiure inside the filter had completely broken loose and was rattling and bouncing around ***** nilly inside the dagum shell of what use to be a fuel filter. That definately is not good, so I put a new filter on it and when I get up to temp no more miss. Thanks guys we'll call that the remove filter and shake and listen diagnostic.

Hey time thanks for the tip bro I ran some seafoam through it and next tank i'll run the usual stanadyne w/ a hint of atf. It was some Autozone store brand, the local mom & pop parts house that carries wix was out and at the time I needed the filter changed b/c I just got the truck. I was gonna change it early b/c of that but I never expected It to be so crappy as to fall apart.

Now I'm wandering who makes autozone filters. That sucks and it sounds like you lucked out, but it could have caused some serious damage to your fuel system.

well after the incident I went down w/ the filter and demanded i get a refund and said it should be the least they could do scince their 30$ product's failure could have potentially caused me thousands of dollars in damage lol. Of course the manager wasn't there, when asked to deliver my contact info and request the manager to call, I never heard back. When I call they put me on hold and the manager never picks up the phone. I did find out the manufacturing company is Champion Labratories. I did find their information online and will be writing a nasty letter w/ a copy of my receipt demanding a refund. Where the he!! has customer service gone these days.
