hi, i was reading some of the prior postings and it seems that everyone is whining about getting ONLY 15 mpg with their I6. i have carbed '84 bronco (w/ the I6) and i only get 9 mpg. is that supposed to be bad milage for it??
Also, i was curious to know what the redline on that motor is. i have a 4 speed and it did not come with a tach (but i bought one and am currently using that).
Seems that most people get between 10 and 15. I currently get about 13, but I run 31" tires, Lund visor and steel grill guard. Mine is also fuel injected and has a 5 speed.
The biggest thing I found that made a difference was running a midgrade gas (89-90 octane works best in my truck).
ive yet to actually calculate it, but im estimating aorund 12.5 mpg, probably more. 9 is a bit low, try just giving it a good tune up, it will probably help a bit.
