questions about idle control unit
im looking for a ford idle control unit for my 1997 powerstroke. I have found a couple but it just doesnt sound right what they are telling me. It says that the unit can be used in all 7.3 diesels and 6.0. i thought that it differs between modules. so i dont know what to get and what to believe. i defently need to bump up the rpms when idle

There are 2 kinds, one is just a bunch of buttons for battery charging and operating a PTO, will work on all 7.3's and 6.0' although have heard some late 94's did have a link up problem, second kind has digital read out and has the ability to set your rpm at any setting you want vice set points on the button kind. Also works well on 7.3's and 6.0's except as noted above.. Quite often available on ebay from around $65 on up.......
